Reported financial figures for US public companies
Return a public company's reported figures (revenue, net income, assets and other XBRL concepts) by fiscal period, straight from its SEC filings.
What it is for
Sizing a customer, checking a supplier's scale or comparing competitors needs the figures a company actually reported, by period, with the filing they came from. This returns SEC XBRL facts for one company and one concept, each tied to its accession number, instead of a figure copied from a summary site.
Sales and credit teams sizing accounts, analysts comparing public companies, and agents answering questions about a listed company's scale.
What happens to a request
The call reads SEC EDGAR's XBRL companyconcept API for the CIK or ticker and concept you give, and returns every reported value with its period, form, fiscal year and accession number. Figures are as filed; restatements appear as separate rows.
What you get
A JSON answer with each reported value of the concept: start and end dates, value, unit, form, fiscal year and period, filing date and accession number.
Scope and limits
Companies that file XBRL financial statements with the SEC.
- Private companies and non-SEC filers are not covered.
- Only US-GAAP or IFRS concepts the company actually tagged are available.
- No ratios or estimates are computed.
What you can specify
- CIK or ticker
- XBRL concept such as Revenues or NetIncomeLoss
- fiscal years of interest
